There is a subway in LA.

and get this.... it's on the honor system.
No. Really. You buy your ticket, and then walk down the stairs and get on the train. No turnstyle or machines or gates or underpaid guys in blue uniforms...

It's harder to sneak on the monorail. You could ride the LA subway all day back and forth if you actually wanted to go where it goes..... which is not much of anywhere.


PS. It was mostly empty around rush hour which was the time I chose to ride.
