recently bygone era

Prior to the big move from Copenhagen, I used to come out to Seattle at least once a year throughout most of the 1990's.... I was lucky that many of those trips coincided with live dates for Sky Cries Mary one of my truly favorite bands (thanks to Chorizo's introduction).

they would usually play 'elephant song' close to the end of each set, and while the sonic purity of the album recording of 'E.S' has no live equivalent, it was really amazing to see Roderick completly lose himself in the song ever time they played it. if you've never seen a band hit that elusive moment when the groove and spirit hit full force at the same time and the rock star begins speaking in tounges (and no, Little Richard does not count) this was your chance.

Sadly, the band plaed their last gig around 3 years ago at the Fenix.

sigh.
