the last 72 hours or weeks, depending on just how sleep deprived I am.
Well, I decided to make some major changes in my life over the last 2 months, and am in the first 48 hours of a somewhat spontaneous vacation.
I stepped down from my duties at The Little Drama Barn (aka Annex Theatre) Which had been something I'd been banting around for some time, but I thought I'd make the leap and move on. When I get back to the states, I'll have a week in Seattle, and then I'm off to NYC and LA for a month or so.
I hopped a plane to Adelaide on sunday evening. This of course after coming down with a formidable head cold on thursday.... so it was either loose the entire vacation (sometimes when you book through a tour agency instead of just getting tickets from the airline, you have VERY STRICT rules covering changeability and cancellation of travel plans) so I had to bite the bullet and take gratuitous amounts of sinus drugs.... I felt pretty bent as a result, but they worked AND helped me sleep thought most of the 15 hour flight, which was otherwise uneventful.
so here I am, across the equator and the IDL, where it's only 5.5 hours behind Seattle, but it's also tomorrow... so the same rules apply as last years trip to Finland... anyone (in Seattle) who wants the novelty of making a local phone call to another continent, try my cel phone. Just don't wake me up before 11AM Adelaide time...
it's really lovely down here... and BLODDY HOT!... which I love, seeing as I've been missing AZ for some time now.
One of the first things I tried to investegate was the
Coriolis Effect
alas, the drains in my hotel room are fancified moderne, and pull water down in a vertical manner as opposed to allowing it to swirl... so I'm deprived of any current attempts to engage in potty humour or simpsons references.
I had a bunch of really powerful anxiety dreams last night... woke up several times, and the new dreams when I got back to sleep seemed to interact with the previous dreams... most of which involved my house... though it was a new version of my house, which in no way resembled my house.... it was more like a house in the malibu hills.... I'll try and meditate on what they were telling me and post that sometime.. but they were completly different than my usual anxiety dreams which mostly seem to involve me having too much to pack and not enough bags in which to fit everything, nor time to make my flight.
but now I'm going to get an iced coffee drink.... (PS, while there seems to be just about every other multinational chain present in OZ, I've yet to encounter a Starbucks... which is a plus, because they seem to have smaller individualy owned or smaller chain espresso shops on every corner...
viva la variety!
