how come it always happens during sleep or in the shower?

this AM, while in the shower .... I got to thinking about how, while I THOUGHT you were giving me love and support, it was just a ruse to keep yourself entertained and possibly warm for several months, and of course, this was just what I THOUGHT I needed.

Some time later, Maggie repeatedly was trying to get me out from behind my walls, and I was pushing her away in the most annoying manner....

Thing is... Support and love, the one thing in the world I wanted more than anything, she was holding out in her hand.

and what hit me in the head this AM, was that *all I had to do was ask*

So, Thanks Mags... not only for the wonderful Brat-O-Cat, but for the love that you gave... in spite of my determination to not let it bloom....

good tidings we bring....

Here is an article that pretty much sums uo my feelings about America's New War (TM)

but I'll excerpt my favorite paragraph from it:

Bush’s inner circle gives scant cause for confidence in this realm. Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz seems to be a smart guy with an ambitious, appealing vision of a democratic phoenix arising from Saddam’s ashes. But he is all too reminiscent of Alden Pyle, the callow idealist-diplomat in Graham Greene’s The Quiet American, who stumbled into a quagmire from the best intentions. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld has no Middle Eastern experience, other than serving as emissary on a 1983 friendship trip to Saddam Hussein. Powell and Vice President Dick Cheney are held suspect by many Iraqis for having abandoned the anti-Saddam uprising at the end of Operation Desert Storm.

recently bygone era

Prior to the big move from Copenhagen, I used to come out to Seattle at least once a year throughout most of the 1990's.... I was lucky that many of those trips coincided with live dates for Sky Cries Mary one of my truly favorite bands (thanks to Chorizo's introduction).

they would usually play 'elephant song' close to the end of each set, and while the sonic purity of the album recording of 'E.S' has no live equivalent, it was really amazing to see Roderick completly lose himself in the song ever time they played it. if you've never seen a band hit that elusive moment when the groove and spirit hit full force at the same time and the rock star begins speaking in tounges (and no, Little Richard does not count) this was your chance.

Sadly, the band plaed their last gig around 3 years ago at the Fenix.

sigh.

really. it's true.

I had forgotten that, on the night before I left last week, I went on an all night house cleaning binge.... so when I got home last night, my house was nice, orderly and inviting.

Note to self: Good idea.
